Historic Downtown Caldwell, Ohio

The entire business district of Downtown Caldwell is being
prepared for nomination to the National Register of Historic
Places. Shown above is the Noble County Courthouse "on
the square", built as a Civil Works Administration project
during the Depression of the 1930's. The Courthouse is unadorned
with the towers and turrets that are characteristic of most
of its counterparts in Ohio. It is constructed of brick, which
was manufactured at nearby Ava. Remember, Ava is also known
for U.S.S. Shenandoah Crash Sites.
