Johnny Appleseed Memorial

Use Caldwell Exit 25 or Macksburg/Dexter City Exit 16, as the monument is located right along SR 821 just South of Dexter City. It is made of small rocks and stones contributed by people throughout the United States where Johnny was known to have planted apple seeds. The gravesites of the family of Johnny Appleseed are located nearby.

The tree you see to the right of the monument is very appropriately an apple tree, which is part of a small orchard at the site.
